Are the tours suitable for children? Participants are required to confirm competence in the saddle. Age is not as important as competence.
Participants must be confident riding in all conditions and environments, remember you will be riding in towns and cities as well as villages and lanes. All
participants must exercise extreme care. Our routes use both busy public highways and quieter roads. It is the participants responsibility to assess their
own suitability for a tour, where the participant is a minor the responsibility falls their parent or legal guardian. We will not release child tandems,
tag-alongs or child trailers for the London Tour.
What about loss / theft / damage? The principle organiser of any booking is responsible for the equipment hired this includes protection against loss /
theft / damage. Locks are provided for both the bikes and the luggage. You must secure equipment properly it must be returned as agreed less fair wear
and tear. In the event of loss of a major piece of equipment such as a complete bicycle mid-tour, you will be required to reimburse the cost of the
equipment and a replacement will be provided - the tour adjusted to keep it on schedule. You are strongly advised to ensure you have adequate
holiday insurance including cover for hired equipment.
What about breakdown / repairs? All bikes are fully serviced before being issued and all are accessorized with Puncture Resistant Tyres. You will be
provided with a repair kit sufficient to undertake 'normal' repairs / maintenance such as punctures - you will need to perform such tasks yourselves. In the
event more serious problems e.g. component failure, you must call the helpline number and get pre-authorisation to take the bike to a local repairer for
help. Please ensure you keep and submit the receipts to us for reimbursement.
Do you offer luggage transfer? Not normally. Cycle Camping is a 'travel light' adventure, with 102ltrs of luggage capacity per bike you'll pack
everything you need and more! By arrangement, a support vehicle and crew can be provided, expect to pay circa £1,000 per week to cover vehicle, fuel,
overnight accommodation and staff time for this service - it's really only suitable for larger groups.
Can you store my suitcase? Yes - on a no liability basis. Please advise us at the time of booking and we will store your suitcase while you are on tour.
How fit do I need to be? Average fitness will be fine. Tour 'legs' are generally 15 - 25 miles ie 2 - 3hrs riding time and routes are designed to allow as
many breaks as you feel you'd like - we avoid uphill riding as much as possible . There is no shame in stopping when you need to rest. Your
confidence and comfort on a bicycle are more important that your fitness. This said, you are responsible for this. We cannot be held liable nor can we be
expected to refund or incur cost if you abandon a booking.
